Viewing the maps as PostScript plots
When the SURFPLOT program is run with the (C)olour/(B)&W
Postscript file, (P)DB-format, (R)aster3D option set to C a
colour PostScript file is generated. If the option is set to
B a black-and-white PostScript file is produced. The other
options, in addition to producing the required output type also generate a
black-and-white PostScript file.
The PostScript files generated by SURFPLOT can be viewed
using any PostScript viewer, or printed off on a laser printer.
Example of the PostScript output showing the binding site of HIV protease
(PDB file 7hvp) defined as a yellow wire-cage surface. The inhibitor is
show as a ball-and-stick model inside, with the protein sidechains shown
around the binding site as thin lines.
